Metamorph supported the team to analyse and address the impact of COVID 19 on their face-to-face sales model, as well as running a pilot to increase the number of digital customers and reduce reliance on cash.

We trained a cross functional Sprint Team in Agile planning and task management, with parallel leadership coaching for senior staff.

Increasing membership, services offered and revenue generation

Metamorph have been supporting Benesh International for over 12 months to develop and implement a new operating model and growth strategy.

Incorporated at the Royal Academy of Dance, Benesh International are the Professional Body of Benesh Movement Notation, a written system for recording human movement. They define and maintain the standards of Benesh Movement Notation, train and certify the next generation of Benesh Choreologists and Notators, and provide their members with the tools, resources, and guidance.

The aim of the work is to support Benesh better serve their professional membership and increase visibility and demand for services within their industry. The work provided the detail of how the business will operate in the future - something that is often missing from business plans - and identified important efficiency savings for the organisation.

Benesh has recently unveiled a new membership package, signaling the start of a new expansion plan. This offering is the culmination of a year-long effort to revamp the company's value proposition and operating model, with the goal of preserving the heritage and legacy of Benesh Movement Notation. We eagerly anticipate the impact of these changes.

Community Engagement Director and Resident Advisory Board Chair

Complex facilitation and stakeholder management support and workshop design

Supporting Urban Symbiotics, an insight led design, architecture and master planning practice to establish and chair Resident Advisory Forums across London to increase the impact of community engagement for redevelopment projects, commissioned by Councils in the London and Greater London area.

Work involves regular, complex facilitation and management of a wide range of views on important and emotive community priorities. Creating a safe space for discussions by setting effective ground rules and adopting a neutral stance is imperative to facilitating holistic and valuable feedback in these settings.

The first forum we established, and chair, have had their work shortlisted for a Festival of London Architecture award, and the client sponsor has been recognised with the New London Hidden Hero award. Our work led to the request by the Local Authority to create a Barking wide Residents’ Advisory Board and the Becontree Design Forum, which we chair and facilitate in a similar capacity.

GivingForce:
4 + 1 working week implementation

Create CEO headspace, drive business development, improve team performance

GivingForce was founded to increase corporate charitable giving and volunteering. By all measures they were succeeding: providing an effective software and support platform to major financial and retain sector clients, leading to significant increases in staff volunteering and payroll giving.

But they had a problem.

They had become the victim of their own success and their founder and CEO had no time to focus on business development and other operational issues hampering growth. Ejaz wanted to delegate more to team leaders, freeing up time in the week to plan for growth and develop new products. He also wanted to fix some niggling issues that they never seemed to get round to.

Metamorph’s brief was to free up CEO time, identify and fix priority operational issues, and use the engagement design and delivery process to increase team autonomy and effectiveness – without disrupting the day-to-day running of the office!

Our approach was to develop a 4+1 working week model for a 10 week period: we analysed the team’s workload, compressed their normal 5 day week into 4, and made Friday a ‘change Friday’. The team were taught the basics of Agile and Scrum and led their own internal change management process, identifying and addressing efficiency gains and cost savings along the way. Ejaz got his Friday’s back and used the time to focus on BD and client management.

The rebalancing effort proved effective and GivingForce have gone on to realise their growth targets in pursuit of their mission.

“Working with Metamorph created an incredible buzz in the office. There is now a hunger from everyone to develop and grow both themselves and the business”

MANA Mobility:
Strategy, Operating model, Investment

Create the foundations for growth and provide seed investment

MANA Mobility, a German-Ghanaian enterprise, is creating an ecosystem for e-mobility solutions in Africa with the core of operations in Ghana.

In 2022, MANA joined forces with Cargo Bikes Africa, a start-up driving innovation in mobility processes through locally designed, produced and subscribed e-bikes and e-trikes. The company has partnerships with pan-African e-commerce platforms and is working to make delivery services more sustainable.
Metamorph have provided pro-bono strategy and operations consulting support to Cargo Bike since its inception in 2020 and were the first investor in the business, acquiring 5 very electric cargo bikes.

The focus of the consulting work was to develop Cargo Bikes operating model. Having a robust operating model not only establishes a foundation for commercial partnerships and growth, but it also provides a clear understanding of the business to potential investors. This gives investors the confidence they need to invest in the company, knowing that it has a solid foundation and a clear direction for future development.

We are proud to work and invest in MANA Mobility and support its team of innovators, creators and change-makers committed to reducing CO2, creating jobs, and making transport accessible to all. We are also eager to go test the bikes in Accra!

Hydrologic: Map and improve information flow for better team performance

Agile ways of working to address operational challenges

Hydrologic is a social enterprise that manufactures and sells ceramic water filters across Cambodia. Its CEO wanted to increase sales and customer engagement, and improve information flow in the company.

We established a Sprint Team to identify their three biggest operational challenges and then map the full process causing each challenge. We then worked with the team to plan and pilot changes to the processes to improve operational performance.

One of the challenges identified was the high turnover of staff. As a result of the pilot the CEO emailed us to note that no one had left Hydrologic in the months following the pilot, which she noted as “impressive”.
